1. About

Boorus is an image viewer for web image databases that host mostly Anime and Manga fanart.

Works on phones like librem5 & pinephone, and also desktops!

Boorus was written for people to find and enjoy art and not for ai scrapping or commercial exploitation.

2. Features

  • Infinite scrolling.
  • Save your favourite searches and see new posts for them when you start the App!
  • Download images and have them offline searchable with tags!
  • Looping Video playback with sound.
  • Support for ugoira zip files and gifs.
  • Many site APIs supported
  • Built-in TagDB for sites that lack tag categories.
  • Wiki browser to read tag definitions.

4. How to build & install

Up to date Rust, Meson, Gtk4 and libadwaita are required.
Use Gnome Builder or Foundry, it will download everything for you.
